The Domaine des Bartavelles is located on the edge of Les Taillades, in the Parc Naturel du Luberon, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty in southern Provence bounded to the north by the Vaucluse plateau and to the south by the Grand and Petit Luberon mountains.
Les Taillades is situated towards the western end of the Luberon valley about 15 minutes drive from the town of Cavaillon. There are local restaurants and shops nearby, tennis courts within 10km, riding within 1km, and golf within 12 km. There are many good restaurants in the area. Some of the best Cotes de Ventoux and Cotes du Luberon wine of the area can be bought direct from the nearby local viticulteurs.
Further afield, the attractions of Avignon, Aix, St. Remy, Nimes, Orange and Arles are all within easy exploring distance with the beaches of the Cote d'Azur and the Camargue accessible within around 2 hours via the Autoroute. The nearest airport is Marseille - approximately one hours drive from Les Taillades. Drive time from the channel ports 10-12 hours.
The Houses
The Domaine is a large 18 th century provencal mas beautifully restored and divided into three separate houses which can be rented individually except during July and August when the property is available to rent only as a whole. The property has a large garden of 4 acres which is completely private. There are plenty of pleasant sitting out areas and chairs and tables are provided for eating out.
The 6 x 12m swimming pool is surrounded by a landscaped area with lots of sunbathing space and loungers are provided.
Each of the houses is independent from each other and each have their own shady terraces. The houses are decorated in typical charming provencal style and have warm terracotta tiled floors and exposed beams. The property as a whole sleeps up to 18 people across the three houses. Linen and towels are included. All the houses are very well equipped and the Maison du Maitre has internet access with connection by ADSL (broadband). A cleaning lady can be arranged and the owner of Domaine des Bartavelles also offers a chef and babysitting service by prior arrangement.
La Maison du Maitre
The largest of the houses has 4 bedrooms - 2 master twin bedrooms, each ensuite with bath, shower, double sink and toilet and 2 double bedrooms both ensuite with shower and sink. Downstairs the large living room is beautifully furnished and has satellite TV and internet access by ADSL (broadband). The large kitchen room is exceptionally well equipped including an American fridge and has a large convivial dining table. There is a separate laundry room. The house is south facing and there are three outdoor terraces and independent parking.
La Bastide
This single storey house has three charming bedrooms, two with twin beds and one double with en-suite shower. There is a family bathroom with bath, shower and basin and additionally there is also a separate toilet. The house has a large amount of living space with a large living/dining room and fully fitted kitchen opening off it. The living room leads out onto the 8x4m terrace overlooking the garden and pool. There is private parking.
Le Mas
This is the smallest of the three houses with 2 bedrooms - one double and one twin. There is a shower room and a separate toilets. The house has been carefully furnished and has a pretty living room and fully equipped provencal kitchen leading off. There is a charming shady terrace with views of the Luberon mountains.

Booking Conditions & Rental Cost 2008
The property is available to rent during the months of July and August only. The rent includes all services except telephone charges.

We ask for half the rent at the time of booking and the balance six weeks before the start of your holiday. If booking is within 6 weeks of arrival we require full payment at the time of booking. We also require a damages deposit of £1000 payable by separate cheque at the time of final payment. All telephone charges, breakages, etc. will be made against the deposit and the balance returned to you. Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday. In order to clean and check the house we ask guests to arrive between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and to leave at 10.00 a.m. on the day of departure.
In case of cancellation, the reservation deposit will be retained unless we can re-let or the whole payment if six weeks or less before the start of your intended stay. If we can re-let our additional expenditure, including advertising, will be deducted and the rest returned to you. We would therefore strongly advise you to take out holiday insurance which covers cancellation. This is widely available, for example from airlines, ferry companies, and the AA.
