La Bastide is located on the outskirts of Les Taillades, a village situated towards the western end of the Luberon valley about 15 minutes drive from the town of Cavaillon. There are local restaurants and shops nearby, tennis courts within 10km, riding within 1km, and golf within 12 km.in private grounds. The property is part of an old provencal farmhouse which has been restored and developed into two charming houses which are completely separate and private from one another.

The House

The single storey stone house is decorated in provencal style with terracotta floors throughout. It has a large living/dining room with provencal stone fireplace and with a fully fitted modern kitchen opening off the living room. The kitchen is equipped with fridge freezer, oven and hob, microwave and dishwasher. There is also a washing machine, iron and ironing board. The living room opens out at the front of the house on to a sunny south facing terrace equipped with garden furniture and a barbecue.

There is a bathroom with bath, shower and basin and three charming bedrooms, two with twin beds and one double with en-suite shower. There is also a separate toilet. Electric heaters are provided for the cooler months and also a television.

Bed linen and towels are provided and cleaning is included at La Bastide.

The house is within a large garden of 4 acres which is completely private. There are plenty of pleasant sitting out areas and chairs and tables are provided for eating out. The 6 x 12m swimming pool is shared by the two houses and is surrounded by a landscaped area with lots of sunbathing space and loungers. In our experience swimming in April is only for the very hardy and the pool is open from 1 May to 30 September.

La Bastide is a comfortable and relaxing base from which to explore the Luberon. The house can be rented individually for 6 people or together with La Maison de Maitre next door for larger parties of up to 16 people.

Booking Conditions & Rental Cost

The rent includes all services except telephone charges.

We ask for half the rent at the time of booking and the balance six weeks before the start of your holiday. If booking is within 6 weeks of arrival we require full payment at the time of booking. We also require a £350 deposit against damages as a separate cheque which should be sent at the time of making final payment. In order to allow time for cleaning, we ask that you arrive between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and to leave at 9.00 a.m. on the day of departure.

In case of cancellation, the reservation deposit will be retained unless we can re-let or the whole payment if six weeks or less before the start of your intended stay. If we can re-let our additional expenditure, including advertising, will be deducted and the rest returned to you. We would therefore strongly advise you to take out holiday insurance which covers cancellation. This is widely available, for example from insurance companies, airlines, ferry companies, and the AA.
