La Carestie is a comfortable provencal house in a quiet residential area of the pretty riverside town of Isle sur la Sorgue on the edge of the Parc Naturel du Luberon. Isle sur la Sorgue is renowned for its antiques galleries and lively provenal and bric a brac market on Sunday mornings and the charming town centre with its narrow little streets is full of interesting shops. There is a wide choice of cafes and good restaurants both in the town and along the riverside. The house is just a few minutes drive from the town centre.

The lovely perched villages of the Luberon valley are just a short drive away and day and half day excursions to Avignon , Orange , St. Remy and Arles are just a little further afield. The house is well located for exploring the Luberon valley, the delights of Isle sur la Sorgue and the surrounding area or simply relaxing around the pool in the peaceful garden.

The House

La Carestie is a two storey house with 4 bedrooms sleeping up to 8 people. The house is comfortably furnished with mix of modern and traditional furniture and is very light and airy. There is full central heating for the cooler months and a provencal fireplace in the living room.

The dining room and living room open directly onto the shady terrace overlooking the pool and private enclosed garden which has lots of sunny and shady areas with a view onto the countryside facing hillsides and vines. There is a well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer, washing machine and clothes dryer.

The house has four comfortable bedrooms. There are three double bedrooms on the ground floor, one of which has its own separate entrance from the garden. Two of the ground floor bedrooms have an en suite shower and toilet and there is a separate wc. On the first floor is the very spacious master bedroom with en suite bathroom with bath and shower. There is also a separate wc on this floor.

There is a television in the master bedroom and satellite television in the living room and there is a DVD/CD player for entertainment. The house has broadband internet connection.

The enclosed garden is planted with lawns, cypress and olive trees and flowering shrubs. There is lots of space for outdoor dining and relaxing either on the lawns or around the pool or in shady areas under the trees. The outdoor dining terrace faces east and south and overlooks the 10x5 m swimming pool which has an in-water security alarm. A charcoal BBQ is provided for guests use.

Bed linen and towels are provided, including pool towels and also a cleaner for the end of your stay.
