Le Gardien is located within a large private Domaine about 4km from the centre of Apt. The property is set on the hillside in attractive and well cared for gardens with superb views over the Luberon valley towards the Vaucluse hills.  The gardens around the house are on two levels with the magnificent swimming pool (15 x 7m) set on the lower level.  There is a large sunbathing area around the pool and on the upper level of the garden there are lawns and flowerbeds with garden furniture under the trees providing shade in the heat of the day.  The house has its own entrance and parking on the upper level. Provence Holiday Houses recommend Le Gardien for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful setting.

The House

The single story house is comfortably furnished throughout with tiled provencal terracotta floors that provide a warm welcome.  The living/dining room overlooks the pool and has French windows leading to a large terrace/balcony with superb views to the hills beyond - a lovely place for a sunshine breakfast at the start of the day or a pre-dinner aperitif.  The kitchen is equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave/grill, and dishwasher.  A washing machine is also available.  A small hall leads to the modern bathroom with bath and shower and the bedroom which has a standard double bed.  The living room has a comfortable sofa bed which can sleep a third guest if requested. The house is centrally heated throughout for the cooler months.

The large gardens are secluded with well maintained lawns and flowerbeds.  There are plenty of pleasant sitting out areas and chairs and tables are provided for eating out.  Loungers are provided for the swimming pool.  The pool is open from May to September and is exclusively for the use of Le Gardien clients and the owners, who occupy the main house. The owners of Le Gardien own a couple of friendly dogs which are are allowed to wander the garden during the evening but are kept in a locked dog run during the day when guests are in residence.

Bed linen is provided but please bring your own pool towels. A television and DVD player are provided for entertainment.

Booking Conditions & Rental Cost                   

The rent includes all services except the cost of heating in the cooler months*. Guests are asked to clean the house on departure.

We ask for half the rent at the time of booking and the balance six weeks before the start of your holiday. If booking is within 6 weeks of arrival we require full payment at the time of booking. 
A damages deposit of £300 is payable by separate cheque at time of final payment. This is refunded after your departure once the house has been checked. Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday.  In order to clean and check the house we ask guests to arrive between 16:00 and 18:00 and to leave by 10:00 latest.

In case of cancellation, the reservation deposit will be retained unless we can re-let or the whole payment if six weeks or less before the start of your intended stay. If we can re-let our additional expenditure, including advertising, will be deducted and the rest returned to you. We would therefore strongly advise you to take out holiday insurance which covers cancellation. This is widely available, for example from airlines, ferry companies, and the AA.
