Les Cistes
Provencal Villa with own pool, St. Saturnin les Apt
Sleeps 4

The Luberon

Les Cistes is located on the outskirts of St. Saturnin, a village which nestles into the side of the Vaucluse hills with beautiful views from the windmill and ruined chateau across the whole of the Luberon valley. St. Saturnin has everything for your everyday needs with two excellent bakers, a butcher and a small supermarket, a doctor and pharmacy, a news agent, shops selling locally produced olive oil and wine plus two good restaurants and café bars.

The House

Les Cistes is at the end of a rural cul de sac in a large garden of pines and oaks which provide pleasant shady areas in the heat of the day. The house is divided between 2 buildings - the main house and the "Cabanon" with an open area between. Both buildings are in provencal style.

The single story main house has a large living/dining room with a large stone Provencal style fireplace for open log fires. Opening off the living room is a fully fitted modern kitchen with gas cooker, fridge, and dishwasher. A washing machine and second fridge for storing cold drinks are in the utility room/garage. The living room opens out at the front of the house on to a terrace with a built-in barbecue. The main double bedroom is a sunny double aspect room leading off the living room. A small hall leads to the bathroom, toilet and main entrance. The "Cabanon" is a self-contained twin-bedded second bedroom with an attractive terracotta tiled floor and en-suite shower room with shower, toilet and washbasin. All the rooms are attractively furnished and the house very comfortably accommodates 4 people. There are electric heaters in both the main house and the Cabanon. A telephone is provided with itemised billing.

The garden is secluded consisting mainly of oaks and pines. There are plenty of pleasant sitting out areas and chairs and tables are provided for eating out. The swimming pool is surrounded by a landscaped area with lots of sunbathing space. Loungers are provided. In our experience swimming in April is only for the very hardy and thus, subject to demand, we operate the pool from May to September.

Bed linen and towels are provided but please bring your own pool towels. There is a CD hifi satellite television (English and French channels), a video and DVD player for entertainment and we also leave a some books and games in the house. An ADSL broadband internet connection is provided for both WiFi and ethernet connection.

We are very conscious of safety and the potential hazard of swimming pools for young children, for this reason we do not accept bookings from families with children under five.

We ask for half the rent at the time of booking and the balance six weeks before the start of your holiday. If booking is within 6 weeks of arrival we require full payment at the time of booking. We also require a £250 deposit against damages as a separate cheque which should be sent at the time of making final payment. All telephone charges, breakage's, etc. will be made against the deposit and the balance returned to you. Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday. In order to have time to check the house, change beds, clean the pool and tidy the garden etc. we ask guests to arrive between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and to leave at 10.00 a.m. on the day of departure.

In case of cancellation, the reservation deposit will be retained unless we can re-let or the whole payment if six weeks or less before the start of your intended stay. If we can re-let our additional expenditure, including advertising, will be deducted and the rest returned to you. We would therefore strongly advise you to take out holiday insurance which covers cancellation. This is widely available, for example from airlines, ferry companies, and the AA.
