Les Gorgues is located in the countryside near to and with views of the nearby village of Menerbes just 3km away. The village is one of the most attractive in the area and several restaurants and bars, two bakers , a butcher, small supermarket, pharmacy and doctor. Good Cotes de Ventoux and Cotes du Luberon wine can be bought at any of the local wine domaines nearby and there are many good restaurants in the area.
The House
The house is part of an old restored farm, possibly more than 250 years old. It is independent of the main house with its own separate entrance. The pretty stone built building is all on one level and has a charming sitting room with large provencal fireplace, a kitchen/ dining room and two bedrooms. The house is delightfully decorated in provencal style.
The fully fitted kitchen has a cooker, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine. The kitchen opens out on to a large terrace leading to the garden and swimming pool. The double bedroom leads off the living room and has a pretty aspect across the garden and swimming pool. A twin bedded second bedroom is at the rear of the house and a shower room with toilet is shared by the two bedrooms. There is a separate toilet off the living room. All the rooms are attractively furnished and the house is ideal for a couple but comfortably accommodates 4 people and can accommodate 5 with the use of a sofa bed in the living room. There are electric heaters for the cooler months and the fireplace is fully functioning for log fires.
The garden is secluded and there are plenty of pleasant sitting out areas and chairs and tables are provided for eating out together with a BBQ. The 10x5m swimming pool with its large pool house with barbecue is surrounded by a large paved area with lots of sunbathing space and loungers are provided. The pool operates from the beginning of June to the end of September and is exclusively for the use of Les Gorgues clients and the owners, who occupy the main house. If your holiday dates are in May and you would like use of the pool, this can be arranged. The rental cost for May with use of the pool will be as per the June rental cost - please see the weekly rental rates below.
Bed linen and towels and tea towels are not supplied but can be provided for a small additional charge of 15€ per person if you prefer not to bring your own. There is a television (French channels only) and radio/CD player for entertainment

Booking Conditions & Rental Cost 2008
The rent includes all services except heating in the cooler months. Guests are asked to clean the house on departure.

If you are considering renting the house outside of these dates please contact us to discuss the cost.
Please note we can only take bookings at Les Gorgues for two weeks in July and August unless one week gaps happen to fall in the schedule.
We ask for half the rent at the time of booking and the balance six weeks before the start of your holiday. If booking is within 6 weeks of arrival we require full payment at the time of booking. A damages deposit of £280 is payable with your final balance payment. Any breakages, etc. will be made against the deposit Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday. In order to clean and check the house we ask guests to arrive between after 16.00 p.m. and to leave at 10.00 a.m. on the day of departure.
In case of cancellation, the reservation deposit will be retained unless we can re-let or the whole payment if six weeks or less before the start of your intended stay. If we can re-let our additional expenditure, including advertising, will be deducted and the rest returned to you. We would therefore strongly advise you to take out holiday insurance which covers cancellation. This is widely available, for example from airlines, ferry companies, and the AA.
